Saturday school? NJ town weighs possibility after snowstorm causes scheduling concerns

Following the historic snowstorm that impacted the tristate area from Sunday to Monday, there have been non-stop cleanup efforts in Paterson, New Jersey.
It’s the second major snowstorm to blast the city in as many months, while progress is being made, there’s still more work to be done.
Paterson Mayor Andre Sayegh says the storm’s cost is approaching $1 million, and city officials are eyeing the potential for more snow later this week and next week as well.
“We have the trucks, we have the salt, we have the manpower,” Sayegh told News 4. “To say that this is a wicked winter or the worst winter we’ve had would be the understatement of the century.
Schools in Paterson were back in session on Wednesday after a delayed start. The school district canceled classes on Monday and Tuesday due to the storm, which left 15-16 inches of snow there.
According to school officials, the district is down to one last built-in emergency closure day. For now, the calendar year has been extended to Friday, June 26th.
Officials warn that any more delays beyond what’s budgeted could lead to another adjustment.
And to make matters worse, there’s a real chance of more snow coming this way.
