LOGAN COUNTY, Colo. An evacuation order was issued Wednesday for central Logan County residents near the community of Padroni due to a wind-driven grass fire, according to the Sterling Fire Department.The nearly 4,000-acre fire
is burning in the area of Highway 113 at milepost 12, and was sparked by a vehicle crash, according to the Logan County Sheriff's Office.The fire was 80% contained by late afternoon, with no injuries, structural, or livestock losses reported.Multiple agencies, including air tankers and local farmers, responded to the blaze, driven by winds up to 50 mph, according to the sheriff's office.Most of the Front Range and northeast Colorado, including the area where the fire is burning, is under a red flag warning for wind and low relative humidity.The warning expires at 6 p.m. Wednesday.
