Feb 22, 2026
(KRON) -- The accolades keep coming for Olympic gold medalist Alysa Liu. After winning gold in last week's women's figure skating at the Milan Games, the Bay Area continues to shower the Oakland native with praise.
Legacy Bay Area radio station 96.5 KOIT is honoring Liu by temporarily changing its
name to "Alysa 96.5" for a day, the station announced in a press release. On Feb. 23, the radio station will be named "Alysa 96.5."
"Alysa Liu has made the entire Bay Area proud, and we wanted to celebrate her historic achievement in a way that reflects just how much she means to this community," Brian Figula, 96.5 KOIT's Director of Programming Operations, said in a news release.
KOIT referenced Liu's viral "What is up Bay Area!" clip after being crowned a gold medalist, calling it "a moment that has since captured the hearts of the region."
