Feb 20, 2026 morning forecast with Tara Hastings INDIANAPOLIS (WISH) – Very windy conditions expected through much of the day today. We will look for some sunshine and falling temperatures throughout the afternoon. Winter returns for the weekend with colder temperatures and even some snow chan ces as well. National Weather Service meteorologists will be out in Monroe and Sullivan counties tracking the tornadic path from last night. They will assess damage and figure out the intensity and rate the twister.  TODAY: We have already seen our high temperature for the day into the forties this morning. Steady temperatures through much of the afternoon with readings slowly rebounding close to 40 later today.. We will look for feels like temperatures to stay into the twenties thanks to very gusty conditions. A wind advisory is in place along I-70 in points northward until 6:00 p.m. Winds may gust at times near 40 and 45 mph. TONIGHT: If you are heading to the Purdue and IU basketball game in West Lafayette the winds will drop. Skies stay clear with temps in the middle thirties. Look for mostly clear conditions later tonight with temperatures falling below freezing. TOMORROW: partly cloudy conditions on Saturday with temperatures right around 44.  7 DAY EXTENDED FORECAST: much colder conditions for the end of the weekend with highs right around 35 for Sunday. We will see a few snow showers possible on  Sunday and also stretching into the first part of Monday as well. Minor accumulations possible across parts of Central Indiana on Sunday less than an inch likely.  Temperatures will start out into the twenties early Monday morning as the kids are heading back to the bus stop. Over dry conditions on Tuesday with temperature slowly warming to near 41. On Wednesday and Thursday the storm system pushes through and brings a chance for some rain late Wednesday into Thursday.
