INDIANAPOLIS (WISH) — We’re tracking a risk for severe storms into Thursday evening and night. Then, much colder air settles in for the weekend.
A ***Tornado Watch*** remains in effect until 9 PM.
Thursday night: Threat for strong to severe storms remains with us into tonight. A le
vel 2/5 risk sits across a good chunk of central Indiana with a level 3/5 risk south of Indy. All hazards are on the table, which includes damaging winds, isolated tornadoes, and large hail. If a cell sustains itself, it is not out of the question for there to be a strong tornado (EF2+) in south central Indiana.
Friday: Temperatures will begin in the mid to upper 50s at midnight before falling into the upper 30s to low 40s by daybreak. Temperatures will try to rebound into the mid 40s to low 50s Friday afternoon, but overall it will be a cooler day with sunshine.
Winds will also be gusting up to 30+ MPH.
Weekend: Even colder air arrives this weekend. Highs will only get into the mid 40s Saturday, and then they fall even further into the mid 30s Sunday. There is even a chance for some snow showers on Sunday.
7-Day Forecast: After a chilly weekend, we’ll start the new workweek cold with highs in the mid 30s Monday. We look to warm things back up into midweek next week.
