Another round of rain, wind and possible thunderstorms will impact the county this afternoon. A WIND ADVISORY is now in effect until 2am Friday for SW winds gusting near 45mph at times. Mountains could see gusts up to 60mph. Rain totals are expected to be 0.25″-0.5″ for the coast and inland vall eys with higher amounts in the mountains. Mountains will see snow levels rising as the storm moves in, with only higher elevation snow possible. We will still have showers in the forecast overnight which would then change back to snow for the mountains at lower levels. A WINTER WEATHER ADVISORY is still in effect for mountains, including Julian and Pine Valley until 9am Friday. An additional 2″ of snow is possible in these areas with several inches at highest elevations. Friday will finally be dry but still chilly through the day. Temperatures will gradually warm across the weekend as our dry weather pattern continues. A HIGH SURF ADVISORY continues for beaches until 10pm Friday with wave heights near 8 feet and dangerous rip currents. So far, next week is looking drier and warmer than this week.
