Feb 19, 2026
The National Weather Service forecast for the greater San Francisco Bay Area for Thursday calls for cold conditions, with chances of rain and showers during the day, while some areas may see breezy winds and frost.
Daytime highs will be mostly in the low to high 50s on the coast, and low 50s arou
nd the bay, and high 40s to low 50s inland. Overnight lows will be in the mid 30s to low 40s, with inland areas dropping into the low 30s.
A strong storm system is set to sweep across the Bay Area and Central Coast on Thursday, bringing thunderstorms, gusty winds, small hail and snow in higher elevations, forecasters say.
According to the National Weather Service, a cold front moving inland Thursday morning could produce lightning, brief heavy rain, erratic winds and waterspouts over coastal waters. Wind gusts may reach up to 50 mph along the coast and in higher terrain, with 30 to 40 mph gusts possible inland.
Showers and isolated thunderstorms may linger behind the front. Snow is possible at higher elevations, especially along the Central Coast, where mountain areas could see up to 10 inches of accumulation, the weather service said.
Hazardous beach conditions are expected through Friday morning. Colder air moving in behind the storm will bring cold to very cold temps Thursday night, with the potential for slick roads and black ice.
