We didn't know the number of casualties Tuesday when we learned of an avalanche in the Tahoe area, but now we know that nine back-country skiers are confirmed deceased. Six skiers were rescued near Castle Peak, and this was reportedly a group of 15, with 11 clients and four guides with Blackbird Mou ntain Guides. The six survivors, one man and five women, recovered the bodies of three of the deceased, and as of Wednesday, one of the nine deceased remains missing.
