SAN FRANCISCO (KRON) -- The Phoenix, a legendary San Francisco hotel that was a favorite haunt of rock stars, remains open, despite being slated to close. The hotel, which was a mainstay for musicians for decades, was due to close in January. “This is where Anthony Keadis would stay, Kurt Cobain. It was the place they all wanted to hang out in, and I’m really proud of that,” said Chip Conley, founder of the Phoenix Hotel told KRON4 back in November. "We know there's been some noise around the Phoenix, so we want to share where things stand right NOW," the hotel posted. "For the time being, our doors are still open and reservations are available to book." While reservations are available, the hotel said it was unclear what the future might hold.
