New Mexico officials launch investigation into Jeffrey Epstein’s ranch

Jeffrey Epstein’s secluded ranch in New Mexico is now the subject of a state investigation, officials announced on Tuesday.
State lawmakers established a four-person “truth commission” to determine what happened at Epstein’s Zorro Ranch, about 35 miles south of Santa Fe, after he purchased i
t in 1993.
Multiple women have testified they were assaulted at the ranch when they were young adults or juveniles. The ranch was mentioned in lawsuits against Epstein’s estate and during the trial of Ghislaine Maxwell, who was convicted of facilitating Epstein’s sex trafficking operation.

However, law enforcement agents have never searched the ranch — despite launching raids on Epstein’s Manhattan townhouse, his notorious residence in the U.S. Virgin Islands and his Florida mansion.
Included in the Justice Department’s latest Epstein files release is an email that alleges two “foreign girls” were buried “somewhere in the hills outside the Zorro” after they “died by
strangulation during rough, fetish sex.” The email claims the burials were ordered by Epstein and “Madam G,” likely referring to Maxwell.
The email sender’s name was redacted by the Justice Department and later requested by New Mexico authorities.

The correspondence was sent to conservative talk show host Eddy Aragon, a New Mexico resident who previously ran for mayor of Albuquerque and is currently running for a House of Representatives seat. Aragon said he reported the email to authorities when he received it in 2019.
New Mexico’s truth commission consists of four state lawmakers — two Democrats and two Republicans — who were handed $2.5 million to investigate Zorro Ranch. Epstein’s estate sold the property in 2023, and it’s currently owned by Don Huffines, a state comptroller candidate who has said he welcomes any investigation into Epstein’s use of the property.
