SANTA CRUZ, Calif. (KRON) -- Two people were rafting on the San Lorenzo River through the Santa Cruz Mountains during a heavy rainstorm Monday morning when the duo became stranded in the wilderness. "After an accident on the water, the man and woman became stranded on a remote bank with no road or trail access. A woman in her 50s sustained an injury," Cal Fire CZU officials wrote. Rescue crews responded to Henry Cowell Redwoods State Park and searched along river banks. After finding the victims, "Firefighters hiked through the rough terrain to reach the two (victims) on the opposite side of the river," Cal Fire wrote. Rain showers throughout Bay Area Monday Rescue swimmers brought the man and woman across the rain-swollen river to safety.
