HUSKER MEN’S BASKETBALL: Nebraska Drops Two Spots in AP Rankings to No. 9

Courtesy of Connoisseur Media Lincoln.LINCOLN–(KFOR/AP Feb. 16)–Following last Tuesday’s loss to Purdue, the Nebraska men’s basketball team drops down to No. 9 in this week’s Associated Press Top 25 men’s college basketball rankings, from being at No. 7 last week.
The Huskers rallied bac
k from being down more than 20 points to force overtime, but came up short to the Boilermakers, who won 80-77.
Nebraska earned their 22nd win of the season on Saturday with a 68-49 win over Northwestern on Husker basketball alumni day. The Huskers return to action Tuesday night with a game at Iowa, which will tip off at 8pm on BTN.
Purdue, meanwhile, moved up to No. 7 in this week’s AP Top 25. The new No. 1 is Michigan, after previously top-ranked Arizona was upset by Kansas, who now is ranked ahead of Nebraska at No. 8. The Wildcats drop from No. 1 to No. 4, following their second consecutive loss, a 78-75 Texas Tech victory.
