The National Weather Service forecast for the greater San Francisco Bay Area for Monday calls for up to 100 percent chances of rain and showers throughout the day. On Presidents’ Day, daytime highs will be mostly in the mid to high 50s on the coast, and low to mid 50s around the bay and inland. Overnight lows will be mostly in the mid to high 40s. Rain will continue across the Bay Area on Monday as a slow-moving storm lingers, bringing steady showers, gusty winds and colder air through midweek, forecasters say. Rain spread from the North Bay into the rest of the region Sunday and will persist overnight into Monday morning before tapering to scattered showers by evening. Most areas have received less than half an inch of rain so far, though about 1 inch has fallen in the Santa Rosa area, the Santa Cruz Mountains and the Santa Lucia Mountains, with up to 2 inches in the coastal North Bay mountains, according to the NWS. Strong winds will continue through midweek, with a Wind Advisory in effect Monday for the Central Coast. A Coastal Flood Advisory remains in effect through Tuesday for minor flooding during high tides, the weather service said. A Winter Weather Advisory is also in place Monday through Wednesday for the Central Coast mountains, where accumulating snow is expected.
