Weather permitting, the American and South Dakota State Flags will be posted across the Missouri River Bridge between Pierre and Fort Pierre today (Feb. 16, 2026) in honor of Presidents Day. The Flags Across the Missouri River Bridge is a Pride in America and fundraising program promoted by the Pier re/Fort Pierre Exchange Club. The flags are sponsored by Raymond James team of Sallie Doty, CERTIFIED FINNACIAL PLANNER and Rebecca Benson. Also in recognition of Presidents’ Day today, over 90 Pierre businesses will fly the flag in front of their business. The Pierre-Fort Pierre Exchange Club and Boy Scout Troop 27 have partnered to post flags outside sponsoring businesses on patriotic holidays since the early 1980s. The Exchange Club has consistently posted Flags Across the Missouri River Bridge for various holidays and other special occasions since 2006.
