“I thought that opening on Saturday, which I would say is very unique, would be wonderful and totally out of the box,” Assessor-Recorder-County Clerk Josie Gonzales said by phone Friday. It’s “something that was unexpected, something that could create a new experience and that would bring an added exciting feeling to couples who were wishing to be married on Valentine’s Day.”

On Valentine’s Day this year, 82 couples arrived for their appointments and left newlyweds.
After two decades together, Rialto residents Alan Ramirez, 44, and Alicia Rosales, 38, planned to tie the knot on Valentine’s Day.
