After a lovely and mild Valentine’s Day, a wintry mix of rain and light snow will hit the Philadelphia area on Sunday.
The storm system will bring mostly cloudy skies Sunday morning as well as rain during the afternoon. The precipitation could start as early as 3 p.m. Sunday. The system will bring rain for most areas though there will be snow showers north and west of Philadelphia.
The rain will gradually turn to light snow for the Philadelphia area Sunday evening.
The light snow will continue late Sunday into the overnight hours with accumulation of an inch or two possible. The system will move out by early Monday morning with some final snow flurries at the Jersey Shore. Temperatures will remain in the mid-40s Sunday and Monday. Then we’re in for a bigger warmup with temperatures near 50 degrees on Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday.
