RICHMOND, Va. (WRIC) -- Over $2.3 million in illegal narcotics were taken off the streets by Virginia State Police (VSP) in just one week, the agency said. On Friday, Feb. 13, VSP issued its most recent weekly crime report, detailing its ongoing crime suppression operations. Per that report, betwe en Feb. 5 and Feb. 11, state troopers across Virginia seized just under 78 pounds of illegal narcotics. This included nearly 52 pounds of cocaine, 21.6 pounds of marijuana and 4.3 pounds of methamphetamine. Additionally, state troopers recovered $57,964 in U.S. currency and six firearms. Said firearms are valued at $3,500. These enforcement actions were carried out through a partnership with federal and local agencies.
