17-year-old arrested in August 2025 shooting INDIANAPOLIS (WISH) — Indianapolis Metropolitan Police Department has arrested a 17-year-old in connection to a shooting in August that left a man injured on the city’s near-north side. Police say it was reported just before 12:40 a.m. Aug. 8 i n the 3500 block of Ralston Avenue. That’s in the Delbert Meyers housing subdivision, a few blocks south of the intersection of 38th Street and East Fall Creek Parkway North Drive. IMPD says officers found a man shot. He was stable when taken to a hospital. Investigators initially believed the shooting was self-inflicted but later determined it was not. IMPD said in a notification issued Thursday morning, “The warrant was for the charges of battery by means of a deadly weapon, criminal recklessness, and dangerous possession of a firearm. “The suspect is a juvenile, and therefore, no booking photo is available.” Indiana authorities generally do not share the names of juveniles accused of crimes unless they are charged in court as adults. The notification from IMPD did not provide the gender of the 17-year-old, or any additional information on the circumstances that may have led to the shooting.
