Park City students travel to Courchevel for cultural exchange with sister city
Feb 12, 2026
The Park City Sister City Association will send 17 Park City High School students to Courchevel, France, from Feb. 12-22 as part of its Winter/Summer Student Cultural Exchange Program.
All participating students are enrolled in the Park City High School French Program, through which they st
udy French language and culture.
During the 10-day exchange, students will engage in immersive cultural, educational and language experiences in the Trois Vallées region, home to the largest ski area in the world. The region encompasses eight interconnected ski resorts, nearly 400 miles of ski terrain and 161 ski lifts. Students will also take part in cultural excursions to Chamonix, Annecy and other notable destinations in the French Alps.
Founded in 1984, the Park City Sister City Association was established when then-Park City Mayor John Green and Courchevel Mayor Michèle Ziegler signed an agreement naming Park City and Courchevel as each other’s only official sister city. The nonprofit has since fostered longstanding bilateral exchanges among municipal leaders, resort partners, community members and students.
Each winter, Park City students and adult chaperones travel to France for a 10-day immersive experience in French language, culture and alpine life. In return, students from Courchevel visit Park City during the summer, participating in a reciprocal American cultural exchange designed to strengthen international friendships and cultural understanding.
“The Sister City program provides our students with a rare opportunity to experience another culture firsthand, build global awareness and represent Park City abroad,” said Tina Quayle, president of the Park City Sister City Association. “These exchanges create lifelong connections and meaningful educational impact.”
