It was another medal-filled day for Team USA on Wednesday, as they find themselves inching closer to the lead in the overall count. And unlike Tuesday, the U.S. found its way to the top of the podium multiple times. See where the medal count stands after Day 4 of competition of the 2026 Milan Cortina Winter Olympics (last updated 2/10 at 5 p.m. EST): The first medal of the day came from Ryan Cochran-Siegle, who defended his silver medal from the 2022 Beijing Olympics with another second-place finish in the men’s Super-G competition. The U.S. took the top two spots in the women’s moguls, with Elizabeth Lemley earning gold and teammate Jaelin Kauf earning silver. In the afternoon, speed skater Jordan Stolz started his 2026 Olympics with a gold in the men’s 1000 meter, setting an Olympic record in the process. The 21-year-old Stolz is trying to join Eric Heiden as the only Americans to win three gold medals at a single Winter Olympics. On the ice, Madison Chock and Evan Bates were the favorites to take home the gold in the ice dancing competition. The pair earned their best score they’ve had all season in the free dance, but it wasn’t enough to take down the French duo, leaving them settling for the silver medal. After four days of competition, Team USA was fourth in overall medals, behind leader Norway, host nation Italy and Japan. Norway is expected to be among the leaders in overall medals for the Olympics, if not win the overall medal count. var pymParent = new pym.Parent('olyLink824', 'https://visuals.otsops.com/projects/milan-links-generator/visual-link.html?link=https://www.nbcolympics.com/videos/madison-chock-and-evan-bates-sublime-olympic-free-dancetitle=Madison%20Chock%20and%20Evan%20Bates%20sublime%20in%20Olympic%20free%20dancerand=824image=https://images.nbcolympics.com/sites/default/files/post/short_form_video/2026/02/11/oly26_fsdnc_hlf_7425_chock_bates_260211.jpg?impolicy=rect_medium_1024_576', {title: '', parenturlparam: '', parenturlvalue: ''}); The U.S. has more chances at medals on Thursday, starting with snowboarder Chloe Kim, who will look to defend her crown in the halfpipe. There are four Americans competing in the women’s Super-G in alpine skiing, including downhill gold medalist Breezy Johnson, and another four in the women’s 10 km in cross-country skiing. Nick Baumgartner, the oldest of Team USA’s snowboarders, competes in the men’s snowboard cross, but will have to advance through multiple rounds before reaching the finals, set to go off just before 9 a.m. EST. Connecticut speed skater Kristen Santos-Griswold will begin her quest for Olympic gold in the 500m, joined by Julie Letai. On the men’s side, Clayton Declemente will hope to advance in the 1000m. The luge team relay features two athletes with ties to the tri-state area: Sean Hollander, and Sophia Kirkby, both of whom are from Upstate New York. What country has won the most medals so far? Through Day 5, Norway and Italy have won the most medals at the Milan Cortina Winter Olympics, both with 13. However, Norway has the edge in golds, winning seven thus far. The United States was just behind, with 12 medals in all, four of which have been golds. Who has won medals for Team USA? The U.S. won their first two medals of the Winter Olympics on Sunday, both of which were golds: In the women’s downhill for alpine skiing, and in the team event for figure skating. Five more were added Tuesday, with another five added Wednesday, giving them 12 overall. Jordan Stolz won gold in the men’s 1000m speed skating, while Elizabeth Lemley earned gold in women’s moguls.
