After a slow start medal-wise to the 2026 Winter Olympics, Team USA found themselves on the podium five times in the busiest day of medal events so far. Unfortunately for the U.S., none of those podium trips were for gold. See where the medal count stands after Day 4 of competition of the 2026 Milan Cortina Winter Olympics (last updated 2/10 at 7:30 p.m. EST): After four days of competition, Team USA was fourth in overall medals, behind leader Norway, host nation Italy and Japan. Norway is expected to be among the leaders in overall medals for the Olympics, if not win the overall medal count. The first medal of the day for Team USA went to Vermont native Ben Ogden. He won silver in the men’s cross-country sprint, becoming the second American man to ever win a cross-country medal at the Olympics (the first since 1976). The U.S. also reached the podium in the inaugural alpine women’s team combined event, but it wasn’t the duo many expected. Paula Moltzan and Jacqueline Wiles claimed bronze, while favorites Mikaela Shiffrin and Breezy Johnson finished fourth. Defending gold medalist Alex Hall returned to the Olympic podium after earning silver in the men’s freestyle skiing slopestyle event. Ashley Farquharson, a 26-year-old from Utah, took bronze in luge women’s singles. The U.S. mixed doubles curling duo of Cory Thiesse and Korey Dropkin settled for silver after losing the gold medal game 6-5 to Sweden. The U.S. has more chances at medals on Wednesday, with the ice dancing team of Madison Chock and Evan Bates in position to make the podium. They will go into the free dance portion of the competition in second place, just half a point behind the leaders. In speed skating, world champion and world record holder Jordan Stolz is set to make his 2026 Olympic debut in the men’s 1000m race, where he is considered the gold medal favorite. Skier Ryan Cochran-Siegle, a silver medalist from Beijing, will look to make the podium again in the men’s Super-G. What medals has Team USA won? The U.S. won their first two medals of the Winter Olympics on Sunday, both of which were golds: In the women’s downhill for alpine skiing, and in the team event for figure skating.
