BLOOMINGTON, Ind. (WISH) — IU guard Lamar Wilkerson was named Co-Big Ten Player of the Week, his second time receiving the honor this season. Wilkerson averaged 29 points, 4 rebounds, and 2.5 assists per game last week. IU lost to USC on the road and beat Wisconsin at home in overtime. H e had 33 points against USC, the most points an IU player has had in a road game since Jalen Hood-Schifino had 35 points against Purdue in 2023. Wilkerson scored 25 points in the win against Wisconsin, including IU’s last 10 points of the game. Wilkerson made two free throws with 16 seconds left in regulation to send the game to overtime and made two free throws with under three seconds remaining in overtime that gave IU the win. Wilkerson is sharing the honor with Iowa guard Bennett Stirtz. Wilkerson is averaging 23.2 points per game in 13 Big Ten Conference games this season, which is the most an IU player has scored in Big Ten games since George McGinnis scored 29.9 points per game in the 1970-71 season.
