RICHMOND, Va. (WRIC) — Multiple lane closures are coming to Powhite Parkway in Richmond to support construction for the city's transition to an all-electronic tolling system. The Richmond Metropolitan Transportation Authority (RMTA) announced on Jan. 31 that construction has begun for its transit ion to an all-electronic tolling system on the Powhite Parkway, Boulevard Bridge and all ramps. RMTA said the new system will modernize its toll collection process, improve traffic flow and enhance roadway safety.
