There were many parties in San Jose, all part of the city’s efforts to entertain visitors before the Super Bowl. Saturday, San Jose City Hall hosted a DJ party with DJ Dom Dolla as the headliner. Friday night, San Jose City Hall hosted a DJ party featuring artists like Oakland’s Kehlani. T he event was part of the South Bay’s efforts to make sure it got noticed during Super Bowl week, something Mayor Matt Mahan highlighted in his state of the city address Saturday morning. “One of the things we learned from 10 years ago is that if we didn’t take control of our own destiny, raise local dollars and put on local programming, the league would put the official events up in San Francisco, and that’s great, our residents enjoy going up there, but we also want to be able to celebrate right here in our city,” he said.
