(KRON) -- San Pablo police have confirmed a homicide investigation is underway after officers responded to several ShotSpotter activations and reports of a shooting just before 10 p.m. Friday. Pedestrian killed in San Jose hit-and-run Officers located a man in the 14700 block of San Pablo Avenue wh o was suffering from at least gunshot wound to his upper body, according to police. Despite life-saving measures from police and emergency medics, the victim succumbed to his injuries and was pronounced dead at the scene. The incident temporarily shut down traffic in both directions on San Pablo Avenue between Lake and River streets while detectives canvassed the area. The victim's identity has not yet been released, and police have not provided any suspect description. It is not clear what led to the incident.
