The Yankees are bolstering their bench with a familiar face. Paul Goldschmidt is returning to the Yanks on a one-year deal, according to multiple reports. The first baseman spent the 2025 season with the Bombers and slashed .274/.328/.403 with 10 homers and 45 RBI. Ben Rice is still expected to get a majority of the reps at first base, however, Goldschmidt provides a strong right-handed option with an impressive resume against left-handers. The veteran slashed .336/.411/.570 against southpaws for the Bombers last season. The Yankees are running it back as the 38-year-old is the latest player to return from last season’s team.
