Magnolia Bakery is opening a banana pudding bar in L.A.
Feb 06, 2026
Magnolia Bakery is bringing a very Los Angeles-friendly twist to one of its most famous desserts. Starting February 12, the cult-favorite Banana Pudding Bar—previously rolled out in select cities—will expand to the brand’s L.A. bakery, giving West Coast fans a customizable, over-the-top way to
order the treat that helped make the company a national dessert icon. The move comes as the 30-year-old bakery continues a broader growth push across the U.S., fueled by franchising, product innovation and new formats designed around how customers actually want to eat and order sweets.

The Banana Pudding Bar is exactly what it sounds like: a made-to-order dessert station centered on Magnolia’s signature banana pudding, layered with add-ins and toppings for a more indulgent, build-your-own experience. The concept first launched in New York and lets customers choose from four pre-designed creations, all assembled fresh and served in dome-lidded cups. Each clocks in at $10.95, with toppings included.
For the L.A. rollout, the lineup leans into maximalist dessert culture. The Caramel Brownie layers classic banana pudding with brownie bits and salted caramel drizzle. Cookies Cream adds Oreo pieces and mini chocolate chips. Red Velvet folds in cake pieces and chocolate chips for a richer, cocoa-forward bite. And Chocolate Hazelnut mixes mini chocolate chips with a Nutella drizzle.
If you somehow haven’t yet tasted Magnolia’s banana pudding, it’s arguably the bakery’s defining menu item: creamy vanilla pudding layered with vanilla wafers and fresh bananas. The dessert helped cement the brand as a pop-culture and food-world staple and remains one of its biggest draws.
The Los Angeles location at 8389 W. 3rd St. will offer the new bar as an in-store experience, but the brand is also putting the Banana Pudding Bar creations on DoorDash, letting you skip the traffic entirely and still get your sugar fix.
If the early response elsewhere is any indication, expect lines. Or, at the very least, a lot of dome-lid cups showing up on your feed.
