Bad Bunny lookalike contest draws massive crowd in SF

SAN FRANCISCO (KRON) -- As Bad Bunny's halftime show in the Bay Area gets closer, excitement is only growing for the Latin music superstar's performance. As part of the Super Bowl festivities in the Bay Area, a lookalike contest was held Thursday evening at Tacolicious in the city's Mission District
.
A massive crowd filled the entire sidewalk of Valencia Street between 18th and 19th -- filled with both lookalike contestants, spectators and Tacolicious patrons. See clip below.
Check out the slideshow below for a look at some of the contestants. The winner (pictured below slideshow) was announced to be an individual who goes by "Abdul Bunny" and has an Instagram following of more than 12,000.

A Bad Bunny lookalike contest announced last month is set to go ahead in San Francisco's Mission District Thursday night. The event, which comes just three days before the Puerto Rican superstar will head up the Super Bowl Halftime Show, is being put on by Mission Loteria, a community group that supports small businesses in the Mission.
"From trap vibes to tropical looks, we're calling on all Benito fans to bring the fits, the energy, and the sass," the event's web page reads.

Thursday night's contest is being held at Tacolicious, a cantina and taqueria on Valencia Street. Prizes include $100 cash, a Tacolicious gift card and "bragging rights," according to the event page.
On-site registration for the contest opens at 5 p.m. with the contest set to kick off at 5:30 p.m. Following the contest, there will be a "Bad Bunny Night takeover" inside the restaurant.

"Just show up in your best Bad Bunny-inspired look and register for the contest when the doors open at 5 p.m.," the event page reads. "No cover, no pressure -- just pure perreo."
The contest is free to attend if you don't plan to enter.
