An extreme cold watch was released by the National Weather Service on Thursday at 12:49 a.m. valid from Saturday 4 a.m. until Sunday 1 p.m. for Oneida, Yates, Seneca, Cayuga, Onondaga, Steuben, Schuyler, Chemung, Tompkins, Madison, Cortland, Chenango, Otsego, Tioga, Broome, Delaware and Sullivan cou nties.“Dangerous wind chills colder than 20 below zero possible,” explains the weather service. “An arctic front will bring cold air and strong winds to the region Saturday morning. Below normal temperatures and blustery winds will result in wind chills dropping well below zero Saturday morning.
