It was a day for watching native birds and spending time outdoors, taking in the blue skies and sunshine. On Sunday, Feb. 1, the Pomona Valley Bird Alliance hosted a bird walk at the California Botanic Garden in Claremont. The event was a draw for birders from throughout the region, who came with bi noculars pointed toward the trees hoping to see and identify some of the native species. The California Botanic Garden is celebrating “birds and their connections to native plant ecosystems” with the upcoming Family Bird Festival, planned from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. on Saturday, Feb. 15.
