The Charlotte Hornets acquired North Carolina native and former North Carolina Tar Heel Coby White in a trade with the Chicago Bulls, according to ESPN’s Shams Charania. The Hornets also received veteran point guard Mike Conley from the Bulls. In exchange for White and Conley, Charlotte sent gua rd Collin Sexton, forward Ousmane Dieng, and three future second-round picks to Chicago. Charlotte acquired Dieng from the Oklahoma City Thunder for center Mason Plumlee. Dieng will then be sent to Chicago amid multiple transactions, Charania said. White, 25, is a Goldsboro, North Carolina native and played at Greenfield High school in Wilson. He was a five-star recruit and played college at North Carolina where he made the second-team All-ACC and ACC All-Freshman teams. He broke the North Carolina freshman three-point shooting record with 82 and was later selected by Chicago at No. 7 overall in the 2019 NBA Draft.
