CHESTERFIELD COUNTY, Va. (WRIC) — Four people were injured and three dogs were killed after a fire broke out early Sunday morning in an apartment in Chesterfield County. At around 3:45 a.m. on Sunday, Feb. 1, crews with Chesterfield County Fire and EMS responded to an apartment fire in the 11400 block of Dunbrook Road. Upon arrival, firefighters found smoke coming from an apartment building and fire inside a second-story unit, officials said. Firefighters located three victims when fighting the fire, including one with life-threatening injuries. They were transported to area hospitals. Officials said a Chesterfield Police officer was also transported to the hospital for smoke inhalation.
