CHARLOTTE, NORTH CAROLINA – The National Weather Service has issued a Winter Storm Warning across our entire area in effect from 4 pm Friday until 7 am Sunday. Extreme Cold Warnings are in effect Saturday evening into Sunday as wind chills could fall be 0 degrees. Frost bite and hypothermia are concerns through the weekend. If you’re planning to go out, make sure all skin is covered. THREE BIG THINGS There will be a sweet spot for higher snow accumulations around Charlotte. Up to 10”+ possible. This is all snow. No ice. Travel and road conditions will be our greatest impact. TIMING All day Saturday. It’s been over four years since our last 1″ snowfall in the Queen City – EIGHT years since our last 3″ accumulation.
