(KRON) -- Detectives in San Mateo County are investigating the circumstances surrounding the death of a woman who was found inside a burning garage in North Fair Oaks Friday morning. The Redwood City Fire Department responded at 4:45 a.m. to the 600 block of Hurlingame Avenue on the report of a str ucture fire. Arriving firefighters found a house's detached garage heavily involved in flames. The fire was contained to the garage and under control within 15 minutes, officials said. During the response, firefighters located a 31-year-old woman inside the garage and removed her to attempt life-saving measures. Paramedics pronounced her deceased at the scene. (Citizen) The identity of the woman was not immediately released. Two other people at the residence self-evacuated before fire crews arrived and were not injured, authorities said. Nearby homes were evacuated during the response. Crime scene investigators, sheriff’s detectives and the San Mateo County Coroner’s Office responded to determine the cause and manner of the woman’s death and the circumstances surrounding the incident.
