Park City begins to reopen parking as Sundance reaches final days
Jan 30, 2026
Park City has started to reopen parking spots that have been closed since before the Sundance Film Festival opened.
It is an annual process of closing the spots as the festival approaches and then reopening them toward the end of the event.
The reopening of parking schedule, according to the
municipal government:
Bob Wells Plaza reopened on Friday.
The north end of the Brew Pub lot is scheduled to reopen on Sunday.
The parking lot on the north side of the Marsac Building is scheduled to reopen on Sunday.
Park Avenue between the Heber Avenue and 9th Street intersections is scheduled to reopen on Sunday.
Other locations reopened previously.
The parking restrictions are designed to decrease traffic in the Main Street core during Sundance and improve the overall operations of the festival.
The China Bridge garage, meanwhile, has been available for parking throughout the festival. Standard rates have been charged since Wednesday after increased pricing during the first six days of Sundance.
Some of the temporary installations that arrived in the days before Sundance opened have been dismantled. The festival hubbub usually peaks during the first weekend, and some of the installations are removed shortly afterward.
The 2026 edition of Sundance is the last that will be held in Park City before the event moves to Boulder, Colorado, beginning in 2027.
