A Philadelphia paramedic is accused of stealing cash from a dead woman’s wallet in Center City. Gary Robb, 41, of Philadelphia, is charged with theft by unlawful taking, receiving stolen property and official oppression. The incident occurred back on Oct. 16, 2025, according to the criminal complaint. Investigators said Robb, who was working as a paramedic for the Philadelphia Fire Department, responded to a report of an unresponsive woman inside an apartment on the 1300 block of Lombard Street. Two other paramedics also responded to the scene, according to investigators. The woman — later identified as Nanette Santilli — was pronounced dead at 4:36 p.m. that day. Santilli’s sister later observed surveillance video from inside the apartment. The video showed Robb stealing money from Santilli’s wallet and then placing the cash inside his jacket pocket, according to the criminal complaint. On Oct. 20, 2025, Santilli’s sister spoke with police. She told them she had given her sister about $200 prior to her death. She said Santilli had placed the money in the same wallet that Robb had stolen, according to the criminal complaint. The woman also said Santilli’s bank card was missing though no charges had been reported on the card at the time. Police also spoke with one of the other responding medics who told them Robb was training her at the time. The medic said Robb had told her that he was taking Santilli’s ID card when he took her wallet, according to the criminal complaint. Robb was later arrested and charged back in December 2025. He declined to comment when NBC10 approached him during a court appearance on Jan. 5, 2026. A city spokesperson confirmed he was suspended from the Philadelphia Fire Department with intent to dismiss. His next court appearance is scheduled for Feb. 5, 2026. Online court records don’t list an attorney who could speak on his behalf. ...read more read less
