Major film tax credit part of Delaware Gov. Meyer's $6.9 billion budget plan

Delaware Gov. Matthew Meyer laid out his spending plan for fiscal year 2027 on Thursday, Jan. 29.
The $6.9 billion budget plans to keep spending growth below 5%.
It also includes significant investments in public education, housing, healthcare, public safety and growing the economy.
The
proposal also creates a $10 million film tax credit in the hopes of drawing major film and television productions to the First State.
“Every Delawarean deserves a government that’s transparent, accountable and efficient that takes their tax dollar and treats every penny like the precious resource that it is. It’s also important we budget responsibly. When there are large gaps between the money we’re spending and the money we’re taking in, we have to make sure we’re bridging that gap,” Gov. Meyer said in his address on Thursday.
Gov. Meyer said his office focused on efficiency and transparency when crafting his proposal.
