CHICAGO, IL. (WOWO) After a year of rising prices at the drive-thru, McDonald’s is winning back American consumers with the return of its $5 meal deals and the Snack Wrap. Company data cited by FOX Business shows same-store sales jumped 2.4% by the third quarter of 2025. McDonald’s USA President Joe Erlinger said the chain has worked with franchisees to let customers define value on their own terms. Local restaurants can also create regional meal deals to respond to inflation and local market conditions. The fast-food giant is also rolling out menu updates in 2026, including new drink options, a protein-focused Hot Honey menu, chicken wraps, and a “better burger” initiative. Digital tools and new restaurant openings will target high-traffic and emerging markets, while existing stores undergo operational upgrades. These moves helped McDonald’s return to the Top 10 of Entrepreneur’s Franchise 500 list, its first Top 10 appearance since 2020. Competitors also ranked on the list include Jersey Mike’s Subs, Taco Bell, Dunkin’, Wingstop, Culver’s, Subway, Wendy’s, and KFC, according to Entrepreneur. By returning to its “old-school” value meals, McDonald’s is sending a clear signal that affordable options remain central to its growth strategy.
