Gerber recalls baby biscuits over potential plastic, paper contamination
Jan 29, 2026
Gerber is voluntarily recalling certain batches of its Arrowroot Biscuits over concerns the packages may contain foreign substances, including soft plastic or paper, the company announced.
The recall affects select 5.5-ounce packages of Gerber Arrowroot Biscuits produced between July and Septembe
r 2025. The affected products were distributed nationwide. No other Gerber products are included in the recall.
According to the company, the potential contamination stems from an arrowroot flour supplier that initiated its own recall. Gerber said it has since stopped working with that supplier and is acting “out of an abundance of caution.”
Consumers can identify impacted products by checking the 10-digit batch code printed on the back of the package, located before the “best before” date.
The following batch codes and best-by dates are included in the recall:
No illnesses or injuries have been reported in connection with the recalled biscuits. However, Gerber advises consumers not to feed the affected products to children. Customers can return the product to the place of purchase for a refund.
Gerber said it is working closely with the U.S. Food and Drug Administration and will fully cooperate with the agency’s review.
“The quality, safety and integrity of our products remain our highest priority,” the company said in a statement, adding that it apologizes for any concern or inconvenience caused to parents, caregivers and retail customers.
