In one of two fires overnight in the Chicago Lawn neighborhood on the South Side, a 75-year-old woman who was badly burned has died. The fatal blaze broke out around 10:15 p.m. in the 7000 block of South Bell Avenue, Chicago police said. The woman was found with burns on her body and was taken to th
e University of Chicago Medical Center where she was pronounced dead, police said. About three hours later and a mile and a half away, a second, apparently unrelated fire broke out in the 6300 block of South Oakley Avenue leaving four people displaced and a 39-year-old woman seriously injured, officials said.
