(KRON) -- Authorities in San Bruno and Millbrae issued more than 200 citations during a one-day traffic enforcement operation held earlier this month, the San Bruno Police Department announced Tuesday. The Saturation Traffic Enforcement Program (STEP) in San Bruno and Millbrae was held on Jan. 13 a nd was enforced by law enforcement “from across San Mateo County,” San Bruno PD said. Deputies and officers conducted approximately 222 traffic stops, resulting in 215 citations issued. Citations issued included: 91 citations for talking or texting while driving 57 citations for failing to stop at stop signs 12 citations for ignoring traffic control devices 6 citations for unsafe speed 5 citations for unlicensed drivers 5 citations for double yellow line violations 4 citations for seatbelt/car seat violations 4 citations for no proof of insurance 31 citations for “miscellaneous violations” “Slow down, buckle up, and keep your eyes on the road instead of your screen,” San Bruno PD said. ...read more read less
