By Chris Mautner, pennlive.com A man has been charged with homicide after police said he killed his father, mother and sister inside a Bucks County home. Kevin Castiglia, 55, was arrested on Monday after he barricaded himself inside his parents’ Northampton Township home. Police were dispatched to the home at about 2:15 p.m. after the boyfriend of Castiglia’s sister contacted authorities to say he had not heard from her since Jan. 24, according to the Philadelphia Inquirer. The boyfriend then went to the home twice and saw his girlfriend’s car in the driveway, police said. When he knocked on the door the second time on Monday, Castiglia answered and threatened him with a large chef’s knife. When police arrived, Castiglia came to the front door with two knives, one of which an officer said had blood on it. Police said Castiglia was speaking incoherently and pointed to the knives when asked where his family members were. Officers then deployed Tasers on him but they had little effect. Castiglia pulled the probes out and slammed and locked the door. A tactical team was then called for and neighbors were told to shelter in place. Hours later a SWAT team was able to forcibly enter the house and Castiglia was taken into custody. Once inside, police discovered the body of his 53-year-old sister, Deborah, in the kitchen. The bodies of his parents, Frederick, 90, and Judith, 84, were found in the basement. Their cause of death has not been reported yet. In addition to homicide, Castiglia is also charged with terroristic threats, possession of an instrument of crime with intent, simple assault, and recklessly endangering another person. ©2026 Advance Local Media LLC.
