Budget airline Breeze Airways is once again touching down in San Antonio — and it’s bringing new nonstop routes with it. Beginning in May, the Utah-based carrier will relaunch service at San Antonio International Airport, connecting the Alamo City to four U.S. stops. The airline will kick things off on May 7 with nonstop flights from San Antonio to Raleigh-Durham. North Carolina. On May 8, service will start to Memphis, Tennessee, followed by the June 10 debut of flights to Pensacola, Florida. Two of the routes will run year-round, while Pensacola will operate during the summer travel peak.“With these new routes, passengers traveling from SAT have more convenient options than ever to connect with new destinations for business or leisure,” said Jesus Saenz, Director of Airports, City of San Antonio Aviation Department, in a release. “This return reflects renewed demand and underscores our commitment to expanding travel opportunities for the San Antonio region.”In addition to the nonstop flights, Breeze will also offer one-stop BreezeThru service on select routes, allowing passengers to stay on the same plane while stopping briefly in another city. Those include connections to Raleigh-Durham via Memphis and summer seasonal service to Tampa via Pensacola.“We’re excited to return to San Antonio with four great routes that we know new and returning guests will enjoy,” said Breeze founder and CEO David Neeleman in the release. “These routes will also serve as a convenient way for more travelers to visit historic San Antonio, and we’re eager to re-enter the market this summer.” ...read more read less
