INDIANAPOLIS (WISH) — A state trooper was taken to a hospital after a suspected impaired driver hit his patrol car while he was blocking traffic on Wednesday, Indiana State Police confirmed. Trooper Nick Klingkammer was blocking a lane on I-65 near 38th Street for a trooper working a crash when a suspected impaired driver hit his vehicle, ISP Public Information Officer Sgt. John Perrine said on X. Sgt. Perrine described Klingkammer’s injuries as “non-life-threatening” but did not provide any other details. The driver who hit Klingkammer’s patrol car is being investigated for operating while intoxicated, according to Perrine. No other information was immediately available.
