A La Habra, California, woman was arrested for child endangerment after her child fell from a moving vehicle in Fullerton, police said Monday.
The incident happened Jan. 20 at the intersection of N. Euclid Street and W. Malvern Avenue between 8 a.m. and 9 a.m. as a camera captured the child fal
ling onto the roadway from the passenger side of a black SUV, the Fullerton Police Department said.
The vehicle immediately stopped, and a female driver came out of the car and picked up the child from the ground, the video showed.
As the footage circulated social media, a witness reached out to the Fullerton Police Department over the weekend, describing the vehicle.
Investigators learned the vehicle belonged to 35-year-old Jacqueline Hernandez of La Habra and arrested her for felony child abuse. The 19-month-old toddler, who was discovered with injuries consistent with the fall, was taken to a hospital and expected to make full recovery.
Police said they are seeking additional witnesses in the case.
When the initial incident happened, no one called to report or complain, according to the Fullerton Police Department.
Anyone with further information was urged to contact Fullerton police at 714-738-6782.
