Hi New Haven! There’s a lot of snow out there. City crews continue to work around the clock. While we are happy to report that streets are passible DPW is busy pushing all that snow back and widening the roadway.
Please be sure to do your part and clear your sidewalks – a 3ft path to allow a wheel chair or stroller to pass, including all curb cuts. Please do not shovel or plow snow back into the roadway. Inspectors will be out enforcing these ordinances.
I am happy to report that the parking ban will be lifted at 6pm today for posted snow routes and our residential neighborhoods with the exception of 10 tight streets that we are working hard to widen. The list is on the City’s website and will have signs posted reinforcing the ban.
The downtown parking ban will remain in effect until 5am, tomorrow, Tuesday, January 27th.
If you parked in a New Haven Public School lot, please remove your vehicles by 8pm today to allow for crews to ready the lots for school tomorrow. New Haven Public Schools will make a determination as to whether there will be a delay tomorrow shortly and will share that information directly with families.
Yale lots will remain available until Noon on Tuesday, January 27th. New Haven Parking Authority discounts will remain available until Wednesday, January 28th at noon.
For more information or to report a concern please call the Emergency Operations Center at 203-946-8221.
Please keep an eye out for additional streets posted for no parking in the coming days as we begin to haul snow away. Thank you for your understanding and cooperation.
See below for a list of the streets where the parking ban will remain in effect, and for other details about the parking ban.
