The city is suspending garbage collection on Monday, Jan. 26. “It’s not safe for our waste management employees to work outside in bitter cold temperatures, and it’s dangerous to operate big trucks on residential streets in such icy conditions,” Mayor Linda Gorton said. “Furthermore, the ice makes it difficult for residents to get their carts to the curb.” With cold conditions continuing throughout the week, decisions on city waste collection service will be announced each day.
