Early voting suspended in Collin, Tarrant counties due to winter weather

County elections departments in Collin and Tarrant counties are closing all polling locations due to winter weather.
Tarrant County
Tarrant County Elections said Saturday afternoon that polling locations will be unavailable on Sunday due to inclement weather and safety concerns.
Voters in
Northern Tarrant County are deciding on the runoff for the unexpired term for State Senate Dist. 9 between Democrat Taylor Rehmet and Republican Leigh Wambsganss.
Polling locations are expected to open late on Monday.
Before heading to the polls, voters can verify open polling locations at the county’s website.
Collin County
Early voting is currently underway to fill unexpired terms on the Frisco and Plano city councils.
In Plano, Shun Thomas is running against Colleen Aguilar-Epstein for the Place 7 seat on the City Council. In Frisco, Ann Anderson is running against Mark Piland for the Place 1 seat on the City Council.
All polling locations are closed through Monday, but those who want to vote early can still do so on Tuesday, Jan. 27.
Winter weather is expected to cause trouble on North Texas roads into Monday and possibly Tuesday, and the county elections departments will continue to monitor weather conditions and provide updates for any additional changes to the voting schedule.
Election Day is Saturday, Jan. 31.
