The NBA has postponed Saturday’s game between the Warriors and Minnesota Timberwolves amid massive protests in Minneapolis. The contest, originally scheduled for 2:30 p.m. PT, has been moved to Sunday at 2:30 p.m. PT. The teams were already scheduled to face each other in Minnesota on Monday, meaning they will now go head-to-head in a back-to-back set. This comes after a man was shot and killed during a confrontation with Immigration and Customs Enforcement agents Saturday morning in Minneapolis, marking the third time a federal officer-involved shooting has occurred there this month, including the high-profile case of Renee Good. Golden State has faced Minnesota once this season, a 127-120 loss last month at Chase Center, even with the Timberwolves playing without Anthony Edwards. Steph Curry dropped 39 points that night, but the next highest scorer on the Warriors finished with 16 as it wasn’t enough to overcome Minnesota. Edwards is now expected to play both Sunday and Monday, and it’ll be Curry this time playing without his partner-in-crime after Jimmy Butler suffered a season-ending ACL injury last week. Jonathan Kuminga, who stepped in to replace Butler temporarily, suffered his own knee injury and originally was listed as out for Friday’s game. But with the game postponed and a few more days to rest, Kuminga’s status is in question for Sunday and Monday’s games.
