Item19.01, Item 19.02, 19.03 The Board voted, following a public hearing, for approval of amendments to Policy 1210, 3210 4210 related to S
tandards of Ethical Conduct, effective January 14, 2026. Revisions include language that the superintendent and Board employees shall not knowingly misrepresent military service for material gain as set forth in F.S. 112.3131. Amendments also relate to employees reporting to a District authority, as determined by the Superintendent, any arrest for a felony or misdemeanor offense listed in F.S. 435.04.
Item 19.04 The Board voted, following a public hearing, for approval of amendments to Policy 5780 Student/Parent Rights, effective January 14, 2026. The amendments: (1) address issues related to diabetes management; (2) remove the term “Naloxone” and replace it with the generic term “emergency opioid antagonist” and specified that any emergency opioid antagonist supplied by a school district must be approved by the FDA; and, (3) require that before a student participates in athletics, the student must receive an electrocardiogram, unless the parent objects in writing.
Item 19.05 The Board voted, following a public hearing, for approval of amendments to Policy 2410 School Health Services, effective January 14, 2026. These amendments include new requirements for school boards related to anaphylaxis training.
Item 19.06 The Board voted, following a public hearing, for approval of amendments to Policy 2417 Comprehensive Health Education, effective January 14, 2026. Policy 2417 is being revised to incorporate a requirement that school districts provide basic training in first aid.
Item 19.07 The Board voted for approval to advertise amendments to Policy 1242 Professional Learning, for a public hearing and adoption on February 24, 2026. The amendments specifically identify the “Florida Educational Leadership Standards” by name as opposed to the “state’s educational leadership standards” and include a provision for training (when such training is available) on the use of instructional materials included on the state-adopted instructional materials list.
Item 19.08 The Board voted to advertise amendments to Policy 3242 Professional Learning, for a public hearing and adoption on February 24, 2026. The amendments specifically identify the “Florida Educational Leadership Standards” by name as opposed to the “state’s educational leadership standards” and include a provision for training (when such training is available) on the use of instructional materials included on the state-adopted instructional materials list.
Item 19.09 The Board voted to advertise amendments to Policy 4242 Staff Development, for a public hearing and adoption on February 24, 2026. The revisions to Policy 4242 are intended maintain alignment with certain language in Policies 1242 and 3242.
Item 19.10 The Board voted to for approval of the Fitzgerald Collaborative Group, LLC Professional Architectural Consulting Services Contract for Raa Middle School, Master Planning, Castaldi, Schematics, Total Design, Design Documents, Construction Administration and The Provision of Plans and Specifications Project. The total amount of the Professional Architectural Services negotiated contract is $1,395,958.00.
